a message from the principal

Dear Zachry Elementary Families,

As we begin our second six weeks of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank our students, families, teachers, and staff for a strong start to the fall semester. We have already accomplished so much, and I am excited about the learning, growth, and opportunities still ahead for our Zachry Zebras.

One of our most important priorities continues to be daily attendance. Every school day matters. When students are present and on time, they have the opportunity to participate in quality instruction, build strong academic skills, develop relationships with their teachers and classmates, and remain connected to everything happening on campus. Missing even a few days can make it more difficult for students to keep up with new learning. We ask for your continued partnership in making regular attendance a priority and scheduling appointments outside the school day whenever possible.

Our teachers remain focused on providing high-quality, rigorous instruction that meets the individual needs of every student. Throughout the semester, we will continue monitoring student progress, providing small-group instruction and interventions, and challenging our students to think critically, communicate, collaborate, and grow. We encourage families to stay connected to their child's learning by reviewing assignments, reading together at home, discussing what students are learning in class, and communicating regularly with teachers.

School is also about much more than academics. We want our students to develop confidence, character, teamwork, leadership, and a sense of belonging. Throughout the remainder of the fall semester, students will have opportunities to participate in sports, clubs, performances, special events, academic activities, and other extracurricular experiences. These activities allow students to discover new interests, build friendships, practice responsibility, and become even more connected to their school community. We encourage our families to support and celebrate student participation whenever possible.

Parent and family involvement remains an essential part of student success. Whether you attend a parent meeting, participate in a campus event, communicate with your child's teacher, volunteer, or simply have conversations at home about school, your involvement makes a difference. We want our families to feel welcomed, informed, and connected to Zachry Elementary. Please continue watching our campus webpage, ClassDojo, and other school communications for upcoming events, important dates, and opportunities to participate.

As we move through the remainder of the fall semester, we will continue emphasizing strong attendance, meaningful instruction, positive behavior, student involvement, and high expectations for every child. Together, we can make sure our students are not only academically successful, but also feel supported, challenged, and proud to be Zachry Zebras.

Thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership. I look forward to all that our students will accomplish during the remainder of this semester.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lilia R. Mora
